Submission for OMB Review; Comment Request

    The Department of Commerce has submitted to the Office of 
Management and Budget (OMB) for clearance the following proposal for 
collection of information under the provisions of the Paperwork 
Reduction Act (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35).
    Agency: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
    Title: Monitoring of Fish Trap Fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.
    Form Number(s): None.
    OMB Approval Number: 0648-0392.
    Type of Request: Regular submission.
    Burden Hours: 184.
    Number of Respondents: 63.
    Average Hours Per Response: 5 minutes.
    Needs and Uses: Persons using fish traps to participate in the 
commercial reef fish fishery in the Gulf of Mexico must make an 
appointment with NMFS in order for the fish traps to be inspected. This 
is a one-time requirement. Fishermen will also be required to make 
telephone reports when initiating and terminating fishing trips. The 
information is needed to monitor fish trap fishing.
