SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Section 3506 of the Paperwork Reduction Act

Abstract: The Gun-Free Schools Act (GFSA) requires each State to
provide annual reports to the Secretary concerning implementation of
the Act's requirements regarding expulsions from schools resulting from
firearms violations. The GFSA requires each State receiving ESEA funds
to have in effect a State law requiring LEAs to expel from school for a
period of not less than one year a student found to have brought a
firearm to school or to have possessed a firearm at school. The GFSA
also requires LEAs that receive ESEA funds to adopt a policy requiring
referral to the criminal justice or juvenile delinquency system of any
student who brings a firearm to school or possesses a firearm at
school.
