Modern Hydro; Notice of Preliminary Permit Application Accepted 

for Filing and Soliciting Comments, Motions To Intervene and Competing 

Applications



August 19, 2008.

    On July 17, 2008, Modern Hydro filed an application, pursuant to 

section 4(f) of the Federal Power Act (FPA), proposing to study the 

feasibility of the Delhi Project to be located on the south fork of the 

Maquoketa River in Delaware County, Iowa. Existing facilities are owned 

by the Lake Delhi Recreation Association Board.

    The proposed project would utilize the existing Delhi Dam and would 

consist of: (1) A powerhouse containing two turbine generator units 

with a total installed capacity of 1.5 MW; (2) a 75 foot long 

transmission line and; (3) appurtenant facilities. The annual

production would be 3 GWh which would be sold to a local utility.
