Amendment and Extension of an Experimental Use Permit
AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: EPA has granted an experimental use permit (EUP) to the
following pesticide applicant. An EUP permits use of a pesticide for
experimental or research purposes only in accordance with the
limitations in the permit.

I. General Information
A. Does This Action Apply to Me?
This action is directed to the public in general. Although this
action may be of particular interest to those persons who conduct or
sponsor research on pesticides, the Agency has not attempted to
describe all the specific entities that may be affected by this action.

1. Docket. EPA has established a docket for this action under
docket identification (ID) number EPA-HQ-OPP-2007-0179. Publicly

II. EUP
EPA has issued the following EUP:
264-EUP-140. Amendment and Extension. Bayer CropScience, P.O. Box
12014, 2 T. W. Alexander Drive, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina
27709. This EUP allows the use of 0.02 pound of the plant-incorporated-
protectant, Bacillus thuringiensis Cry1Ab protein in events T303-3 and
T304-40 cotton plants, on 88.5 acres (out of 303 total acres) planted
to Cry1Ab-containing cotton to evaluate the control of lepidopteran
larvae such as bollworm (Helicoverpa zea) and tobacco budworm
(Heliothis virescens). The program is authorized only in the States of
Arizona, California, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina,
South Carolina, Texas, and in Puerto Rico. The EUP is effective from
August 28, 2008 to January 31, 2009.
