Notice of Public Information Collection(s) Being Reviewed by the
Federal Communications Commission for Extension Under Delegated
Authority, Comments Requested
March 25, 2008.
SUMMARY: The Federal Communications Commission, as part of its
continuing effort to reduce paperwork burdens, invites the general
public and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to (PRA) of
1995 (PRA), Public Law No. 104-13. An agency may not conduct or sponsor
a collection of information unless it displays a currently valid
control number. Subject to the PRA, no person shall be subject to any
penalty for failing to comply with a collection of information that
does not display a valid control number. Comments are requested
concerning (a) whether the proposed collection of information is
necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the
Commission, including whether the information shall have practical
utility; (b) the accuracy of the Commission's burden estimate; (c) ways
to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information
collected; and (d) ways to minimize the burden of the collection of
information on the respondents, including the use of automated
collection techniques or other forms of information technology.
DATES: Written PRA comments should be submitted on or before May 30,
2008. If you anticipate that you will be submitting comments, but find
it difficult to do so within the period of time allowed by this notice,
you should advise the contact listed below as soon as possible.

Title: Section 73.1250, Broadcasting Emergency Information.
Type of Review: Extension of a currently approved collection.
Respondents: Business or other for-profit entities.

Number of Respondents and Responses: 50 respondents; 50 responses.
Estimated Time per Response: 1 hour.
Frequency of Response: On occasion reporting requirement; Third
party disclosure requirement.
Obligation to Respond: Required to obtain or retain benefits.
Total Annual Burden: 50 hours.
Total Annual Cost: None.
Privacy Act Impact Assessment: No impact(s).
Nature and Extent of Confidentiality: There is no need for
confidentiality.
Needs and Uses: 47 CFR 73.1250(e) requires that immediately upon
cessation of an emergency during which broadcast facilities were used
for the transmission of point-to-point messages or when daytime
facilities were used during nighttime hours by an AM station, a report
in letter form shall be forwarded to the FCC in Washington, DC, setting
forth the nature of the emergency, the dates and hours of the
broadcasting of emergency information and a brief description of the
material carried during the emergency. A certification of compliance
with the non-commercialization provision must accompany the report
where daytime facilities are used during nighttime hours by an AM
station.
