(a) General statement. Wildlife Services (WS) manages problems caused by wildlife. (b) Deputy Administrator of WS. The Deputy Administrator of WS is responsible for: [[Page 472]] (1) Participating with the Administrator of APHIS and other officials in the planning and formulation of policies, programs, procedures, and activities of APHIS. (2) Providing direction and coordination for programs authorized by the Act of March 2, 1931 (7 U.S.C. 426 and 426b, as amended). (3) Assisting Federal, State, local, and foreign agencies and individuals with regard to wildlife damage and control. (4) Conducting research to develop wildlife damage management methods.
