Sec. 649.52 What fellowship conditions apply? To continue to receive payments under a fellowship, a fellow must-- (a) Maintain satisfactory progress; (b) Devote essentially full time to study or research (including acting as a teaching or research assistant, as required as a condition for award of the degree) in the academic field for which the fellowship was awarded; and (c) Not engage in gainful employment during the period of the fellowship, except on a part-time basis in teaching, research, or similar types of activities approved by the Secretary.
