(a) Records relating to matters that are specifically exempted by statute from disclosure may not be made available for public inspection. For example: section 1905 of title 18 U.S.C., protecting trade secrets, processes, and certain economic and other data obtained by examination or investigation, or from reports. (b) The purpose of this section is to preserve the effectiveness of statutes of the kind cited as an example, in accordance with their terms.
