           Subpart B--What Projects Does the Secretary Assist?
 
Sec.  350.13  What must a grantee do in carrying out a research activity?

    In carrying out a research activity under this program, a grantee 
shall--
    (a) Identify one or more hypotheses; and
    (b) Based on the hypotheses identified, perform an intensive 
systematic study directed toward--
    (1) New or full scientific knowledge; or
    (2) Understanding of the subject or problem studied.
