(a) Permits for Class I and Class V wells shall be effective for a fixed term not to exceed 10 years. UIC permits for Class II and III wells shall be issued for a period up to the operating life of the facility. The Director shall review each issued Class II or III well UIC permit at least once every 5 years to determine whether it should be modified, revoked and reissued, terminated, or a minor modification made as provided in Secs. 144.39, 144.40, and 144.41. (b) Except as provided in Sec. 144.37, the term of a permit shall not be extended by modification beyond the maximum duration specified in this section. (c) The Director may issue any permit for a duration that is less than the full allowable term under this section. [[Page 643]]
