(a) Definition. A more complicated investigation is an investigation that is of an involved nature owing to the subject matter, difficulty in obtaining information, the large number of parties involved, or other significant factors. (b) Temporary relief. The Commission or the presiding administrative law judge, pursuant to Sec. 210.60, may declare an investigation ``more complicated'' in order to have up to 60 days of additional time to adjudicate a motion for temporary relief. See also Sec. 210.51(b). The Commission's or the administrative law judge's reasons for designating the investigation ``more complicated'' for that purpose shall be published in the Federal Register. The extended deadline for concluding an investigation that has been designated ``more complicated'' under this paragraph shall be computed in the manner specified in Sec. 210.51(c).
