(a) The Governor will be promptly notified by the Director or his/ her designee of a declaration by the President that an emergency or a major disaster exists. FEMA also will notify other Federal agencies and other interested parties. (b) The Governor will be promptly notified by the Director or his/ her designee of a determination that the Governor's request does not justify the use of the authorities of the Stafford Act. (c) Following a major disaster or emergency declaration, the Regional Director or Associate Director will promptly notify the Governor of the designations of assistance and areas eligible for such assistance.
