Sec. 2006.4  Requests for information made to Foreign Governments or 
Instrumentalities.

    If the U.S. Trade Representative receives a petition alleging 
violations of any international agreement, he will notify the foreign 
government or instrumentality of the allegations and may request 
information, in English, necessary to a determination under section 
304(a)(1)(A) of the Trade Act. The Trade Representative may proceed

on the basis of best information available if, within a reasonable time, 
no information is received in response to the request.
