(a) Procedures required. A State plan must include a description of procedures used to inform families of children likely to be eligible for child [[Page 368]] health assistance under the plan or under other public or private health coverage programs of the availability of the programs, and to assist them in enrolling their children in one of the programs. (b) Examples. Outreach strategies may include but are not limited to the following: (1) Education and awareness campaigns, including targeted mailings and information distribution through various organizations. (2) Enrollment simplification, such as simplified or joint application forms. (3) Application assistance, including opportunities to apply for child health assistance under the plan through community-based organizations and in combination with other benefits and services available to children.
