(a) Openings in the side of a vessel below the bulkhead or weather deck must comply with the requirements in subpart F of part 171 of this subchapter or Sec. 179.350 in subchapter T of this chapter. (b) In addition to the requirements in paragraph (a) of this section, each sailing school vessel which has a mean length greater than 90 feet must comply with the requirements in Sec. 56.50-95 of Subchapter F of this chapter.
