                    Subpart_Order Regulating Handing
 
Sec. 928.55  Inspection and certification.

    (a) Whenever the handling of any variety of papayas is regulated 
pursuant to Sec. 928.52 or Sec. 928.53, each handler who handles 
papayas shall, prior thereto, cause such papayas to be inspected by the 
Federal or Federal-State Inspection Service, and certified by it as 
meeting the applicable requirements of such regulation: Provided, That 
inspection and certification shall be required for papayas which 
previously have been so inspected and certified only if such papayas 
have been regraded, resorted, repackaged, or in any other way further 
prepared for market. Promptly after inspection and certification, each

such handler shall submit or cause to be submitted to the committee a 
copy of the certificate of inspection issued with respect to such 
papayas.
    (b) The committee may enter into an agreement with the inspection 
agency with respect to the costs of inspection required by paragraph (a) 
of this section, and may collect from handlers their respective pro rata 
shares of such costs.
    (c) The committee, with the approval of the Secretary, may prescribe 
such rules and regulations as it may deem necessary to assure compliance 
with this section and provide for identification of containers of 
papayas which have been inspected and certified for handling.
