Except as otherwise authorized, the sale or supply by United States persons, or from the United States or using U.S.-registered vessels or aircraft, or any activity by United States persons or in the United States that promotes or is calculated to promote the sale or supply, of arms and related materiel of all types (as defined in Sec. 590.302) or petroleum and petroleum products (as defined in Sec. 590.316), regardless of origin, is prohibited if such sale or supply is to: (a) UNITA; or (b) The territory of Angola other than through a point of entry designated in appendix B to this part. Note to Sec. 590.201: The exportation of arms-related items to Angola may require separate authorization from the Bureau of Export Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, under the Export Administration Regulations, 15 CFR subchapter C.
