(a) Managers must acknowledge a request to amend a record within 10 workdays after receiving it. If possible, the acknowledgment should state whether the request will be granted or denied, under Sec. 105- 64.404. (b) In reviewing a record in response to a request to amend, the manager should weigh the accuracy, relevance, timeliness, and completeness of the existing record compared to the proposed amendment to decide whether the amendment is justified. On a request to delete information, the manager should also review the request and the existing record to decide whether the information is needed by the agency under a statute or an Executive order.
