A Honey Board is established to administer the terms and provisions of this part. The Board shall consist of twelve (12) members, each of whom shall have an alternate. Seven members and seven alternates shall be honey producers; two members and two alternates shall be honey handlers; two members and two alternates shall be honey importers; and one member and one alternate shall be an officer, director, or employee of a national honey marketing cooperative. The Board shall be appointed by the Secretary from nominations submitted by the Committee, pursuant to Sec. 1240.32. Notwithstanding any other provision of this part, at least 50 percent of the members of the Board shall be honey producers. [66 FR 21830, May 1, 2001]
