(a) General. (1) For the purposes of this section, the insecticide mineral oil is defined as the refined petroleum fraction having the following characteristics: (i) Minimum flashpoint of 300 [deg]F. (ii) Gravity of 27 to 34 by the American Petroleum Institute standard method. (iii) Pour point of 30 [deg]F maximum. (iv) Color 2 maximum by standards of the American Society for Testing Materials. [[Page 453]] (v) Boiling point between 480 [deg]F and 960 [deg]F. (vi) Viscosity at 100 [deg]F of 100 to 200 seconds Saybolt. (vii) Unsulfonated residue of 90 percent minimum. (viii) No sulfur compounds according to the United States Pharmacopeia test under Liquid Petrolatum.
